Shadows on the ceiling,
Spreading over the walls,
Products of a string of light,
where darkness took its toll.
Hopes and memories unleashed,
On an unexpected world,
Threaten the false sanity,
Of a numbed-out, dried-up core.
Fragile we are my friends,
With a false sense of control,
When a simple gush of wind,
Could simply break our hold.
Conceited in our belief
In an everlasting world
For today is just a delusion
When tomorrows’ reality draws.
